A Day of Rest

Yesterday was an eventful day. Got a payout bump for one of my campaigns. Had lunch with Matt and talked about stuff (he’s got a head full of good ideas, keep an eye on his blog).  Sent out more emails about my upcoming podcast.  You know, a productive day.  As I write this, my mind is pretty much empty.

That brings me to my next point:  Writing every day is not going to work out for me.  I’m reminded of last semester when I had class or worked every single day of the week for months.  I got burnt out, the quality of my work suffered, and I was pretty much in a bad mood all the time.  Because of this, I’ve decided to make a major change to this blog:  I will no longer update on Sundays.  I just need a day to not think.

I’ve updated every day for the last five months, and that’s helped my site get off the ground.  I think daily updates are an excellent, almost mandatory thing for new sites, but this is no longer a new site.  I’ve surpassed the 100 reader mark, I’m going to be launching a podcast soon, and I’ve got a good working relationship with several other bloggers.  It’s time for me to scale things back and focus on quality, not quantity.

In short, you guys will be getting six updates per week instead of seven.  I know, I can almost see the tears streaming down your faces.   You’ll just have to tough it out.  Feel free to use the ‘hate mail’ option on my contact form if you’d like to express your disdain for this new turn of events.

That’s a good idea to take a day off, so you just can relax. I’m sure you will get more subscribers this way.
