Google Analytics: Literally Minutes of Fun

Every once in awhile, it’s nice to take a closer look at your analytics page. Here are a few of the more interesting things I’ve picked out of the last month of my statistics:

Why are you still using Internet Explorer?

Look at this:

Come on people, why are you still using IE? It’s slow, it has more security vulnerabilities than any other modern browser, and it just plain sucks. Go get Firefox. Either that, or give me a good reason why anybody should still be using IE.

Not optimized for tiny screens

Here’s a shocker:

That’s from the OS page. People are visiting this site from hand-held devices. I don’t know whether to be impressed or horrified. This site must like like total crap on a screen that small. Oh well, to each his own.

Something surprising

An article I wrote six months ago seems to be ranking #2 when you search for the name of a particular online store:

Back when I wrote that article, they’d only sold 400 somethings. Six months later, they’ve sold over 10,000. Congrats guys.

Diamond in the rough

I’ll leave you guys with this keyword that’s brought two people to my site:

If that’s not a reason to try to get rich, then I don’t know what is.

    1. You should fix your header in Safari. :)

    2. I’m locked into IE at work. Can you believe that shit? A supposed ‘web developer’ who’s forced to use Windows and IE?

I use both, IE and Firefox. But I can’t live without Firefox, its the plugins I can’t live without.

The only problem with FF and its probably just me, but it leaks like a sive, the memory leaks are insane.

As I say it probably just me, but then when FF eats 2 gigs of ram I really dont feel like using it as much.

Firefox Rocks! Although I just installed five different browsers to test out me website and have to admit that they don’t look too bad.

Forgot to mention which ones: Avant,Opera,Safari,Netscape, and Maxthon. I don’t think Safari is going to need a second look (it looks very nice, but that’s much about it)

  5. Tim Says:

@Rajaie: Safari is the browser of choice for any self-respecting Mac user and represents the third-largest chunk of browser marketshare. It is certainly the most important of the 5 browsers you named.

Safari for elegance, Firefox for extensibility, IE for…uh…epic failure.
